Wire Splicing Preparation

free the wire of obstructions

Learning how to splice wire begins with selecting the wire you will be splicing into. In this case, we will be showing you how to splice wire using a quick connector. The wire we have selected to show you how to splice wire with is the green wire. It is important before we show you how to splice wire, that we note the need to free the wire of any obstructions, such as the tape seen in this picture.

insert the wire for splicing

Once you have located the wire you will splice into, your first step in how to splice wire will be to slide that wire into the Quick Connect. In the photos above, we have shown you how to splice wire by sliding the green wire into the open end of the Quick Connect.

insert the wire inside of quick connector

Once you have slid the wire you are splicing into through the open end of the Quick Connect, the next step in how to splice wire is to insert the wire you are splicing in. We are demonstrating this for you by using the black wire.  The black wire will slide into the closed end of the Quick Connect. NOTE: In the picture above you will notice that the black wire has already been stripped using wire strippers, you will NOT have to strip the wire, to splice wire using quick connectors.
